Overview
Benlo Creative, LLC runs this website to share portfolio work, photography services, prints, gear recommendations, tutorials, shop links, and ways to get in touch. This policy explains what information may be collected when you use the site and how it may be used.
Information You Send Directly
If you submit a contact form, email me, sign up for updates, request photography or design services, or otherwise reach out, I may collect the information you choose to provide, such as your name, email address, phone number, service or project focus, timing or urgency, message, and other context you include. Please do not send passwords, payment card information, government identifiers, or other highly sensitive information through a site form.
I use the information you send to respond, plan projects, provide requested services or resources, manage business communication, prevent spam or abuse, and keep appropriate business records.
Email Updates
Some pages may include newsletter, notification, free-resource, workshop, print, or gear-related signup forms. Grisbio Forms validates those signups in WordPress and sends them server-side to the self-hosted Email Server and Listmonk. Listmonk manages subscriber status, confirmation, email templates, campaigns, delivery, analytics, transactional messages, and unsubscribe or preference tools.
If you sign up, I may process your email address, name if provided, signup source page or post, form or card identifier, selected topic or list, consent language and version, timestamp, confirmation status, and related delivery or engagement information. Workshop and Prints signups also include the General list so I can manage a complete all-subscribers audience. Gear-related and unspecified signup placements currently route to the General list.
Public signup lists use double opt-in. That means you may need to confirm your email address before receiving marketing emails. You can unsubscribe or manage preferences using links in the emails, or you can contact me if you need help.
Email Delivery and Engagement Data
Emails may include delivery, confirmation, unsubscribe, preference, bounce, open, view, and click tracking provided by the email system. Open and view tracking can be imperfect, so I treat it as directional. Clicks, unsubscribes, bounces, and confirmation status are stronger signals for managing email delivery, list health, and future content planning.
The site may also keep consent and provider debug logs for signups. These logs may include masked email addresses, email hashes, source metadata, selected topics, resolved Listmonk list IDs, environment, consent version, API result, and safe error details. API tokens, authorization headers, passwords, and similar credentials are not intentionally stored in those logs.
Cookie Preferences and Browser Storage
When the cookie notice is enabled, the site stores your consent choice in your browser's local storage. That record can include the policy version, whether necessary, analytics, and advertising categories were accepted, and the time the choice was updated. It is used to remember your preference and is not itself an advertising profile.
Optional Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, and Meta Pixel scripts managed by SiteCore are blocked until the relevant consent is given. Choosing Necessary Only keeps those optional tags from loading. You can reopen Cookie Preferences from the footer to change or withdraw consent. Withdrawing consent prevents future optional loading and attempts to remove common first-party analytics or advertising cookies that this site can access; it cannot erase data already received by a third party.
Analytics, Cookies, and Site Security
The site's hosting, WordPress, security, caching, and form systems may create operational logs needed to deliver pages, detect errors, rate-limit submissions, prevent abuse, and protect the site. Those records can include IP address, date and time, requested URL, browser or device details, response status, and security events. Necessary operational processing may occur even when optional analytics is declined.
With Analytics consent, SiteCore may load Google Analytics 4 to measure page views, sessions, approximate location, device and browser categories, site searches, outbound clicks, form submissions, email signups, print-order handoffs, and similar interactions. Google Analytics may use cookies such as _ga and _ga_ to distinguish visitors and sessions. Contact-form contents, newsletter email addresses, payment details, and other directly identifying form data are not intentionally sent to Google Analytics. The Google Analytics event-level retention setting for this site is currently 14 months.
The site may also use a self-hosted interaction or heatmap tool to understand aggregate clicks, scroll depth, and page usability. If a Meta Pixel or other advertising tag is enabled in the future, it may measure advertising performance or audiences only under the applicable consent category. You can also control or delete browser cookies and site data through your browser settings.
Embedded Content and Spam Protection
Pages may include or link to content from services such as YouTube, SmugMug, Pictorem, LinkedIn, Instagram, and other portfolio or social platforms. When embedded third-party content loads or you interact with it, the provider may receive your IP address, browser or device information, referring page, and interaction data under its own privacy policy. SiteCore's cookie preferences control the optional analytics and advertising tags managed by SiteCore; third-party embeds and destination sites may use separate technologies and policies.
Forms may use honeypots, timing checks, rate limits, and, when enabled, Cloudflare Turnstile or a similar anti-abuse service. Those tools may evaluate browser and network signals to distinguish legitimate submissions from automated abuse.
Portfolio, Testimonials, and Public Information
The site may display client or employer names, company logos, project credits, testimonial quotes, professional titles, profile links, and photographs to describe past work and professional relationships. That material may be provided directly, used with permission, or drawn from public professional information. Rights in third-party names, marks, and supplied materials remain with their owners. Contact me if information about you needs to be corrected or removed.
Affiliate Links, Shops, and Third Parties
Some links on this site may take you to outside platforms such as print shops, affiliate partners, social media, video platforms, portfolio marketplaces, or product vendors. Those third-party sites may collect information under their own privacy policies. I do not control their privacy practices.
How Information Is Shared
I do not sell or rent personal information for money. I may disclose information to hosting, email, analytics, security, spam-prevention, content, print-fulfillment, and other service providers or self-hosted systems that process it on my behalf or provide a service you request. I may also disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law, respond to legal process, protect rights or safety, investigate abuse, enforce site terms, or complete a merger, sale, financing, reorganization, or other business transfer.
Why Information Is Processed
Depending on the context and applicable law, information is processed to respond to your request or take steps toward an agreement, carry out a service or transaction you requested, comply with legal obligations, operate and secure the site, pursue legitimate business interests that do not override your rights, or based on consent that you can withdraw for future processing.
Retention
I keep information only as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described here, including responding to messages, maintaining project records, managing email consent and unsubscribe records, meeting legal or accounting obligations, understanding site performance, and protecting the site from abuse.
Security
I use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards intended to protect the site and the information it handles. No website, transmission, account, or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure, so please use care when deciding what to send online.
Where Information May Be Processed
Benlo Creative, LLC is based in Utah, United States. Hosting, analytics, email, embedded-content, print, and other service providers may process information in the United States, Canada, or other countries where they operate. Those places may have privacy laws different from the laws where you live.
Your Choices
You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time using the unsubscribe or preference link in those messages. You can reopen Cookie Preferences from the footer to change optional analytics or advertising choices. Subject to applicable law and reasonable identity verification, you may also request confirmation of whether information about you is processed, access, correction, deletion, or a portable copy, and may have rights to opt out of certain sales, targeted advertising, or profiling. Requests can be limited where retaining information is permitted or required for security, legal, tax, accounting, consent, unsubscribe, or other legitimate recordkeeping purposes.
Children
This site is not directed to children under 13, and I do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Updates
This policy may be updated as the site, tools, services, or legal requirements change. The updated date above will reflect the latest version.
Third-Party Print Partner Privacy
Photography print purchases may link to or be fulfilled through Pictorem, a third-party print partner. Pictorem may collect contact, account, technical, transaction, billing, payment, shipping, and customer-service information when you visit its site or begin or complete an order. That processing is governed by Pictorem's own privacy practices. You can review Pictorem's privacy policy at pictorem.com/privacy.html.
With Analytics consent, this site may measure that a visitor clicked an order or print-shop handoff link, including the print title, collection, selected example size, displayed price, currency, and destination URL when available. Completed purchase details, customer names, email addresses, shipping details, payment information, and other order-identifying information are handled by Pictorem and are not intentionally sent from this site to Google Analytics.
